Namaste Charleston!
We are excited to share that Namaste Charleston is now a tax-exempt entity under IRC section 501(c)(3) Nonprofit charitable organization in 2022.
Our organization has six Board of Trustees and two Board Advisors to execute our philanthropic agenda.
Our Mission
Community service will be our primary mission.
We will provide deserving students with laptops and other educational technology. We will also help the underprivileged unity member with food & basic needs. We are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve and are committed to providing essential resources, programs, and services to meet their needs.
In 2020, we started as a virtual platform for Indians living in and around Charleston and all interested in India-related activities and information. We are now a strong community (700+) that will support our neighborhoods and Lowcountry. We are proud to collaborate with individuals and organizations who share our mission & commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners to help us fulfill our mission.
Community Services
Highschool Laptop Giveaway
Namaste Charleston will give laptops to deserving high-school seniors. Namaste Board selects Lowcountry area schools. Each school receives laptops for outgoing seniors. Deserving students in need are chosen by their school counselors and staff. Generous donations provide funds for these laptops. All the donated amount is assigned and spent for this purpose. This once-a-year event takes place from November to February each year.
We also participate in school career symposiums to help students pursue their educational goals.
Annadanam
Namaste Charleston has partnered to support the Neighbor’s Together organization’s efforts to feed the needy & hungry. Our volunteers sign up to prepare, serve food, and help in the kitchen.
We are also committed to serving the broader community by partnering with local organizations. We are confident to help build a stronger and more resilient community by working together.
