Our Mission

Community service will be our primary mission

We will provide deserving students with laptops and other educational technology. We will also help the underprivileged community member with food & basic needs. We are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve and are committed to providing essential resources, programs, and services to meet their needs.
In 2020, we started as a virtual platform for Indians living in and around Charleston and all interested in India-related activities and information. We are now a strong community (700+) that will support our neighborhoods and Lowcountry. We are proud to collaborate with individuals and organizations who share our mission & commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners to help us fulfill our mission.

Community Services

Namaste Annual Event
Namaste Charleston proudly hosted a Donor Appreciation Event to celebrate its fifth anniversary and honor both current and prospective laptop donors. Joined by school officials from the beneficiary school, attendees had the rare opportunity to hear firsthand how their generosity has transformed students’ lives and expanded access to education. With more than 100 guests in attendance, the gathering stood as a powerful testament to the community’s dedication to bridging the digital divide. School representatives shared moving stories of progress and possibility, underscoring the profound impact of continued support.
Annual Laptop Giveaway
Namaste Charleston provides laptops each year to deserving high-school seniors across the Lowcountry who are admitted to undergraduate studies. The Namaste Board selects participating schools, and counselors identify students with “financial need to ensure the laptops reach those who will benefit most. This program is funded entirely through generous community donations, with every dollar dedicated to purchasing laptops. Distribution takes place annually from November through February, supporting students as they prepare for graduation and future opportunities. In addition to the laptop initiative, Namaste Charleston also participates in school career symposiums, offering guidance and encouragement to help students pursue their educational and professional goals.
Annual Summer Camp
Children’s camp is a joyful summer experience that celebrates culture, learning, and friendship. Rooted in the spirit of Namaste, the campers’ children a welcoming space to explore Indian traditions, express creativity, and build meaningful connections. Through dance, music, yoga, storytelling, art, and theater, kids immerse themselves in culture while developing confidence and imagination. Daily mindfulness practices support focus and well-being, and group activities nurture teamwork, empathy, and respect for diversity. With plenty of games and laughter, the camp creates lasting memories and helps children grow into curious, compassionate individuals.
